About Universal Store (ASX:UNI)

Universal Store Holdings Limited is an ASX-listed fashion retailer headquartered in Brisbane. It operates the Universal Store and Perfect Stranger youth fashion store chains across Australia and owns the THRILLS and Worship apparel brands through its CTC business, selling in stores and online.

Universal Store (ASX:UNI) released a trading update for the first 17 weeks of FY27 to report positive like-for-like sales growth against strong prior year comparatives, ahead of its peak trading period.

Group direct to customer sales for FY27 YTD, to 25 October 2026, were up 9.3% on the prior corresponding period. Universal Store total sales rose 6.6% (LFL sales +2.8%), Perfect Stranger total sales rose 36.8% (LFL sales +11.6%) and Cheap Thrills Cycles total sales rose 2.9% (LFL sales –0.7%). CTC in-store YTD LFL growth was +4.1%, while its online sales were 8.8% below the prior year. CTC wholesale, circa 4% of total Group sales, remains challenged as it cycles discontinued USA exports and the closure of a small number of key retail accounts. Five new stores have opened FY27 YTD and seven more are set to open before Christmas, and the Group says it remains on track for its guidance of 16 to 20 new stores. The company says Perfect Stranger growth is providing a gross profit % mix benefit and a favourable effective AUD/USD rate is offsetting higher transport costs. There are 19 holdover leases under negotiation.

All figures are unaudited. The update gives no profit, margin or earnings guidance figures, and the new warehouse management system is still to be implemented after the peak trading period.
