SureStone Unify. Portfolio administration and reporting.

Your investments, in your name. We do the paperwork.

SureStone Unify is SureStone Capital's administration and reporting service. It pulls your whole portfolio, listed and unlisted, into one reconciled record, so tax time stops being a paper chase.

Tax time without five logins and a spreadsheet.

If you invest across a few different places, the paperwork soon spreads out. A share registry or two, a broker, a bank, a fund manager and a folder of letters. It works, until your accountant asks for the capital gains figures.

Unify brings the lot together. You still own everything, and you still make every decision.

Who uses Unify.

Anyone with a SureStone account can take up Unify. It is open to retail and wholesale clients, and most of the people who use it fall into one of three groups.

SMSF trustees

Your fund's listed and unlisted holdings, income and capital gains sit in one reconciled record, in the fund's name. You hand your accountant and auditor one set of year-end reports, without chasing five providers.

High-net-worth investors

Larger portfolios spread wide: direct shares, placements, managed funds, bonds, property and unlisted holdings. Unify reports across all of them, in your own name or through a company or family trust, so you see the whole position in one place.

Self-directed investors

You run your own share portfolio and make your own calls. Unify leaves that alone. It takes over the record keeping, the corporate action paperwork and the tax-time reports.

What Unify takes off your desk.

Holdings reconciled, not guessed

Cash, trades and corporate actions are matched each quarter, so the record agrees with what you actually hold.

Quarterly and annual reports

Performance, holdings, income and capital gains, set out so they make sense to you and to your accountant.

Tax figures you can plan with

Capital gains and income reporting, plus modelling tools on the platform, to take to your tax professional. This is not tax advice.

Corporate actions tracked

Rights issues, buybacks and takeovers are tracked and put in front of you. You decide. If we have not heard from you by the closing date, the offer lapses.

The mail comes to us

Registry notices, dividend statements and annual reports come to the administration team. We deal with what we can and bring you anything that needs a decision.

A person who picks up

You can log in. So can we. Ring the desk on 1300 687 941, ask for a figure or a report, and we will get it for you. General advice only.

What lands in your pack.

You get a report every quarter and a full set at year end. Each one covers:

  • TransactionsEvery purchase, sale and cash movement for the period.
  • HoldingsWhat you own at period end, and what it was worth.
  • IncomeDividends, distributions and interest, received and accrued, with franking credits.
  • Capital gainsRealised and unrealised gains, parcel by parcel.
  • PerformanceHow the portfolio moved over the period.
  • Estimated yieldsForward income estimates based on historical data. They are estimates only and actual dividends may be very different.

Who does what

You stay the owner and the decision maker.

Held in your name

Your investments stay registered to you. Nothing in the arrangement changes your legal or beneficial ownership, and you keep your voting rights. A small number of assets, such as international shares and some bonds, can only be held through a custodian.

You give the instructions

Unify is not a managed account. We do not buy, sell or take up an offer without hearing from you first. If a corporate action closes and we have not heard back, it lapses.

We do the administration

The administration team receives your registry mail, banks your dividends to your account and keeps the records straight. The paperwork that sets this up is in the pack, and we take you through it before you sign.

Want the full picture before you decide?

We do the rest

Questions people ask first.

What is SureStone Unify?

SureStone Unify is a portfolio administration and reporting service offered by SureStone Capital and powered by the Praemium platform. It reconciles your holdings, income and capital gains in one place and produces quarterly and year-end reports. Your investments stay in your name and you make every decision.

Who is Unify for?

SMSF trustees, high-net-worth investors and self-directed investors who run their own portfolios. It is open to retail and wholesale clients, and to individuals, joint holders, companies and family trusts.

Can I use Unify for my SMSF?

Yes. The fund's investments stay registered in the fund's name. Unify gives you and your accountant one reconciled record of holdings, income and capital gains for the year-end accounts and audit. It is not an SMSF administration or audit service, and it does not prepare the fund's tax return.

Is Unify a wrap platform or a managed account?

No. On a wrap platform a custodian usually holds your investments. With Unify they stay registered in your name, apart from a few assets, such as international shares and some bonds, that can only be held through a custodian. It is not a managed account either. We do not trade without your instructions.

Do you make investment decisions for me?

No. Unify is an administration and reporting service, not a managed discretionary account. You decide what to buy, sell or hold, and we act on your instructions.

What does it cost?

Unify is charged as a percentage of your portfolio each year, billed monthly, with a minimum annual fee. Ring the desk on 1300 687 941 for the figures. The fee is set out in writing in the pack before you sign, and either side can end the service at any time.

Can you report on investments I hold somewhere else?

Often, yes. Managed accounts, holdings with another broker and other outside assets can be added on request. We do not administer those assets, so the reporting depends on information from you or the provider. Talk to the desk about what you hold.

Is this tax advice?

No. The reports give you and your accountant the figures. SureStone does not give tax advice. Speak to your accountant or a tax professional before you act.

What if I already have an account with SureStone?

Then you are most of the way there. Unify sits on top of your existing Client Account. Your Private Wealth Advisor will take you through the form. SureStone provides general advice only.

We are ready when you are.

Have a conversation before you sign anything. We will take you through how Unify works, what it costs and what it does not do. Then you decide.
