About Silex (ASX:SLX)

Silex Systems Limited is an ASX-listed technology commercialisation company headquartered at Lucas Heights, New South Wales. Its primary asset is the SILEX laser enrichment technology, under development for uranium enrichment with US-based exclusive licensee Global Laser Enrichment.

Silex (ASX:SLX) reports that 51%-owned Global Laser Enrichment and Cameco Corporation have executed an exclusive Offtake Agreement under which Cameco will buy all future production of GLE's planned Paducah Laser Enrichment Facility in Kentucky.

GLE is the exclusive licensee of the SILEX uranium enrichment technology. Under the Agreement, GLE is to receive pricing equivalent to Cameco's average realised price, net of appropriate selling costs, achieved on an annual basis across Cameco's long-term contracting portfolio, without GLE establishing its own sales and marketing resources. Cameco holds a 49% ownership interest in GLE. Silex's CEO/Managing Director says the offtake is a commercial pillar to support a future final investment decision for the PLEF, and that the Agreement contains customary contractual terms to protect GLE and Silex.

Any contribution from the SILEX technology remains subject to industry and government support, a feasibility assessment for the PLEF leading to a positive FID, and supportive market conditions. No FID has been taken in this release, and commercial deployment of the technology remains subject to associated risks.
