About REA Group (ASX:REA)

REA Group Ltd is an ASX-listed digital advertising company headquartered in Melbourne. It operates Australia's residential and commercial property marketplaces, realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au, together with the mortgage broking franchise Mortgage Choice and the property data business PropTrack. It also holds a 20% interest in Move, Inc., which operates realtor.com in the United States, and is majority owned by News Corp.

REA Group (ASX:REA) released its Q1 FY27 trading update to report core revenue of $450m, up 11%, and to leave its FY27 outlook unchanged.

Revenue was up 8% excluding M&A. Operating expenses were $155m, up 9% (up 2% excluding M&A), with Australian costs up 3%. EBITDA excluding associates was $294m, up 12%. Residential revenue rose 10%, driven by 14% controllable Buy yield growth (8% total Buy yield including geo-mix) and a 3% positive impact from deferral, against national Buy listing volumes down 2% (Melbourne and Sydney down 16%, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide up 17%). Average monthly buyer enquiries were 1.9 million, down 33%, and seller leads fell 9%. The REA India divestment was completed on 29 September 2026, leaving a 24.9% undiluted stake in Aurum Proptech Limited. REA expects new national Buy listings to be down low single-digits in FY27; October listings were 13% lower, or 8% lower removing one working day. It continues to target low double-digit controllable Residential Buy yield growth and mid single-digit operating cost growth excluding M&A.

Results are unaudited. The release says a July 2026 Ipsos iris methodology change makes year-on-year comparisons of those audience figures invalid, and it does not quantify the REA India gain, describing it only as small.
