About Northern Star (ASX:NST)

Northern Star Resources Ltd is an ASX-listed gold producer headquartered in Perth. It operates gold mines and processing plants in Western Australia, including Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines, and the Pogo mine in Alaska. It earns its revenue from the sale of gold.

Northern Star (ASX:NST)'s September quarter report records completion of the KCGM mill tie-in, about two weeks later than anticipated, and keeps FY27 guidance unchanged under a Managing Director who started on 5 October 2026.

Gold sold totalled 364koz at an AISC of A$3,217/oz (US$2,244/oz). Kalgoorlie sold 193,540oz at A$2,919/oz, Yandal 117,631oz at A$3,687/oz and Pogo 52,720oz at US$2,307/oz. All-in costs of A$4,647/oz were higher than the June quarter, which the company attributes to reduced gold sold from grade and recovery impacts tied mainly to Pogo and KCGM commissioning. Net mine cashflow was A$210 million, while Group underlying free cash flow was A$(31) million, including A$113 million of corporate tax payments. Cash and bullion was A$1,200 million at 30 September 2026, and A$500 million of bank facilities were utilised after quarter end to maintain targeted cash on hand. FY27 guidance remains 1,500-1,650koz gold sold at an AISC of A$3,050-3,450/oz, with production expected to be weighted to the second half.

Commissioning of the integrated KCGM plant is in its early stages and stable, sustained operating performance is not yet established. Stage II commissioning is scheduled for early 2H FY27, and a Hemi Project Final Investment Decision is planned for late FY27.
