About Transurban (ASX:TCL)

Transurban Group is an ASX-listed toll road owner and operator headquartered in Melbourne. It develops, finances and manages toll roads in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and holds interests in Express Lanes assets in the greater Washington area of the United States. Its principal revenue source is tolls charged to motorists using its concession assets.

Transurban (ASX:TCL)'s September quarter traffic update shows Group average daily traffic (ADT) up 3.1%, with growth led by Sydney's M7 and the contribution of Melbourne's new West Gate Tunnel.

Sydney ADT increased 3.0% to 1,077,000 trips, led by the M7 (+10.7%) after the M7-M12 Integration Project opened and 2.2% growth on WestConnex. Melbourne increased 4.2% to 875,000 transactions, reflecting the West Gate Tunnel, which carried ADT of 37,000; excluding it, CityLink ADT was broadly flat (-0.2%). Brisbane grew 1.1% to 498,000 trips. North America increased 4.7% to 127,000 trips, with the 495 Express Lanes up 17.3% and the 95 Express Lanes down 3.1%. Average dynamic toll prices increased 20.0% to US$15.82 on the 95 Express Lanes and 47.4% to US$12.36 on the 495 Express Lanes. Excluding the West Gate Tunnel, Group ADT growth was 1.6%. A historical vehicle classification issue on CityLink and West Gate Tunnel is not expected to have any material effect on Free Cash Flow or the FY27 distribution.

The release gives no revenue figures. Transurban does not expect a material traffic impact from Victorian election toll policies announced to date, and says the duration of any macroeconomic impacts depends on geopolitical and policy developments.
