Novo Nordisk Orders Two More APAS Independence Instruments

Clever Culture Systems Ltd (ASX:CC5) has received a purchase order from Novo Nordisk for two additional APAS Independence instruments, increasing the total number of instruments purchased by Novo Nordisk to three. The company said the sales price for each of the two instruments is consistent with previously disclosed targeted pricing. The instruments will be installed at a single site in Denmark and used to complete a formal global validation of the APAS technology; Clever Culture Systems said successful completion will allow the instruments to transition into routine laboratory use supporting the regulatory required Good Manufacturing Practice, and that this represents the final technology performance milestone required by Novo Nordisk ahead of potential broader deployment. Clever Culture Systems said the order follows a successful evaluation of the technology over the past 12 months, with positive results presented at an APAS Expert User Group meeting.

Novo Nordisk also placed an order with Clever Culture Systems to commence work on an advanced interface between its global Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and the APAS technology, supporting bi-directional communication between the two to allow more intelligent sorting of environmental monitoring samples. The company said the interface is an important enabling step to support future expansion of the APAS technology across additional Novo Nordisk global manufacturing sites. Clever Culture Systems said it has now installed APAS Independence with eight global manufacturers, each progressing through different stages of evaluation, validation and deployment, and restated its expectation of a step-change increase in sales commencing FY27, largely driven by sales expansion with existing customers plus new customer opportunities converting to sales. Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Brent Barnes said the order is a further demonstration of the APAS technology's performance and provides evidence of the company's stated “Land and Expand” strategy targeting major global pharmaceutical manufacturers. Novo Nordisk purchased its first APAS Independence instrument in July 2025. The release does not state the value of the order.
