About LGI (ASX:LGI)
LGI Limited is an ASX-listed renewable energy and carbon abatement company based in Eagle Farm, Queensland. It develops and operates distributed landfill biogas, solar and battery assets and uses proprietary control systems to dispatch energy and carbon products.
LGI (ASX:LGI) entered a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Maryrorough Solar Pty Ltd (Brigalow) and 100% of Chinchilla Solar Pty Ltd from IIG Solar Assets Pty Ltd ATF The IIG Solar Asset Trust for $22.0 million with no associated debt, adding 42MW of operating grid-connected Queensland solar export capacity.
Chinchilla has 14.7 MWac export / 19.9 MWp installed and Brigalow 27.3 MWac export / 34.5 MWp installed, or 54MW installed capacity combined. Based on current electricity prices, the acquisition is estimated to contribute annual EBITDA of $2.1 to $4.0 million, depending on synergy timing and Dynamic Asset Control System implementation. LGI says the price is about $0.5 million per MW and below greenfield development cost, with land lease life remaining over 30 years at both sites. Funding will use available cash and the existing debt facility. Shareholder approval is not required, no outstanding material conditions remain, and completion is anticipated on 9 October 2026. The company upgrades its targeted medium-term strategic pipeline to over 120MW while remaining committed to an 80MW high-conviction pipeline previously announced, and targets net debt to EBITDA below 2x. Battery hybridisation studies have started but no BESS commitment is made.
