About OFX (ASX:OFX)

OFX Group Limited is an ASX-listed international payments and foreign exchange company headquartered in Sydney. It provides money transfers, global business accounts, payment and currency risk management services to consumers and corporate clients across multiple jurisdictions.

OFX (ASX:OFX) Group is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to data, including data relating to some clients, after its IT and Security teams implemented containment actions.

At this stage of its investigation, OFX says it has not identified any unauthorised access to client accounts or funds and, based on information available to date, there has been no financial loss to clients. Services and systems continue to operate normally and remain fully available. OFX is still working to understand the identity and number of clients whose data may have been accessed. It does not appear that any copies of identity documents have been accessed, and it also appears that none of the data accessed can be used to make a payment in the OFX platform. Data relating to individuals who interacted with OFX in non-client capacities, such as job applicants, may also have been accessed. Affected clients and individuals will be contacted once OFX can confirm their data was accessed. OFX has notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and other global regulatory authorities.

Investigations continue; the release does not quantify how many clients or records were affected.
