About Bapcor (ASX:BAP)
Bapcor Limited is an ASX-listed automotive aftermarket parts and services company headquartered in Melbourne. It supplies vehicle parts, accessories and equipment to trade customers and consumers through trade, wholesale and retail businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Bapcor (ASX:BAP) used its 2026 AGM to reaffirm its FY27 outlook and report first-quarter sales, which it says show turnaround initiatives implemented in the second half of FY26 gaining traction.
Compared with Q1 FY26, Total Trade parts sales increased 2.5%, or 1.6% on a like-for-like basis, and the company says Trade market share was higher. Sales across the Networks segment, comprising CVG, JAS and Wholesale, increased 4.1%, and New Zealand recorded modest like-for-like growth in local currency. The Retail environment remained soft, with total and like-for-like sales affected by cost-of-living pressures and less effective promotional activity, as growth in non-discretionary categories was more than offset by declines in discretionary categories. On a constant currency basis, Group like-for-like sales increased 0.5% and total sales 0.3%. Trade and Retail gross margin percentage improved on Q1 FY26, which Bapcor attributes to targeted pricing initiatives. Net debt fell $19 million from 30 June 2026 to $116 million at 30 September 2026, primarily from operating cash flow. The reaffirmed outlook has Underlying NPAT materially weighted to 2H FY27 and modest revenue growth, with the Middle East conflict and cost of living pressures moderating the benefits of turnaround initiatives, which will be largely reinvested in technology and people.
The outlook gives no NPAT or revenue figure, and the release reports no profit result for the quarter.
