About Ampol (ASX:ALD)
Ampol Limited is an ASX-listed transport fuels supplier and convenience retailer headquartered in Sydney. It owns the Lytton oil refinery in Brisbane and imports, refines and distributes petrol, diesel, jet fuel and lubricants across Australia to wholesale, commercial and aviation customers. It operates a national network of branded service stations and convenience stores, and owns Z Energy, a fuel supplier and retailer in New Zealand.
Ampol (ASX:ALD) has updated the market on third-quarter trading and disclosed extra maintenance work at its Lytton refinery that delays the restart of a key unit and will reduce fourth-quarter output of higher-value products.
Ampol says Group RCOP EBIT for the third quarter grew compared with the 2H 2025 quarterly average. The Lytton Refiner Margin was US$23.92 per barrel, compared with US$10.64 per barrel in the prior corresponding period, achieved during a planned Turnaround and Inspection. Refinery production was 1,137 ML, down 9.2%. During inspection of the Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU), management identified additional reactor refractory relining work and decided to bring forward maintenance on one of the refinery's crude units. The FCCU is expected to restart in mid-November, and production of petrol, diesel and jet fuel is expected to be approximately 150 ML lower in 4Q 2026 than previously anticipated. Ampol says customer supply is not expected to be affected. Total Group sales volume was 6,245 ML, up 3.6%. Ultra Low Sulfur Fuels project commissioning is now expected in 1Q 2027, with no material earnings impact expected from the timing change and the Group capex outlook unchanged.
The release gives no RCOP EBIT figure for the quarter and does not quantify the earnings effect of the lower fourth-quarter production. The proposed Evie Networks acquisition remains subject to ACCC clearance.
