The local market is set to open sharply lower with ASX futures down 1.6%.It comes after Wall Street stocks tumbled overnight following an early tech rally following Nvidia's results, although the chipmaker ended lower after surging as much as 5% in the day. As a whole, the tech sector was down the most, while the consumer sector was the only advancer on the S&P 500.Among gainers, Walmart advanced after the retailer raised its annual forecast for the second time this year, and set a December date to change its stock listing to the Nasdaq from the NYSE.Elsewhere, the US economy saw stronger than expected jobs growth in the delayed September data, even with the unemployment rate rising. Gains were partially flattered by difficulties adjusting for workers leaving their summer jobs, resulting in higher payroll counts in the leisure and hospitality industry as well as the retail industry.Locally today, services and manufacturing PMI’s are released while Accent Group, Kogan, Lovisa and WiseTech hold AGMs.
