The S&P/ASX 200 kept riding on highs sparked by the RBA's rate cut, shrugging off Wall Street's losses to finish 0.5% higher at 8386.80 points this Wednesday.
The banks supported the index, with market-heavywight CBA reaching yet a new intra-day record high, before closing up 1.3% at $174.70.
The energy sector also made some gains amid US intelligence reports that Israel is preparing for a strike on Iran, a major oil producer. Santos rose 1.3%.
Elsewhere - a raft of companies reporting earnings proved more contrasted.
James Hardie fell after it announced earnings slipped 4% to US$269 million in the three months to the end of March. James Hardie will not be paying a dividend, which sent its stock price slumping 6.2%.
One of the day's biggest laggards was Nufarm, down a whopping 30.1% as it reported a near 40% slump in statutory net profit and cast doubt on its future profitability.
On the positive side, Seek said its FY25 revenue and earnings will be in the top end of its previously guided range. Investors pushed the stock 7% higher.
The US earnings season continues overnight with the likes of Target and Zoom, while Global PMIs are due tomorrow.
