Aurora Labs (ASX:A3D) has reached a pivotal milestone with the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding with European defence leader MBDA. Rebekah Letheby states this collaboration represents a significant step forward for the company, validating its 3D printed propulsion technology on a global scale. Letheby outlines that MBDA, owned by Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo, provides an exceptional opportunity for Aurora Labs to integrate its technology into future weapons systems, with expectations for a promising 2026.

Letheby shares that Aurora Labs has evolved from manufacturing metal 3D printing systems to focusing on propulsion systems for drones and loitering munitions. Over the last two years, the company has moved its turbojet engines from prototyping to commercialisation, recently receiving its first order for a small run of 400 Newton turbojet engines to be delivered in early 2026. Aurora Labs continues to scale production at its West Australian facility, targeting both European and domestic defence markets.

Letheby highlights the competitive edge of their technology, emphasising reduced part counts, improved fuel efficiency, and resilience at extreme thermal loads. The company recently completed a $5.5 million capital raise, positioning it with strong financials and a robust sales pipeline as it looks toward expanding engine production through 2026 and 2027.
