Jefferies and Morningstar have raised their price targets on Harvey Norman after the company posted an upbeat trading update...
Jefferies says that Harvey Norman's operating leverage and housing exposure position the retailer for accelerating earnings and further upside. The broker has an $8.40 target price.
Morningstar has a more modest $5.50 target price, warning against Amazon's push on the Australian market.
However Morningstar points to robust prospects for JB Hi-Fi over the remainder of FY26.
The broker expects cyclically stronger consumer demand for technology and lifestyle goods like laptops and furniture. It has raised its target price on JB Hi-Fi to $57
Meanwhile Citi and Jefferies have slashed their target price for Temple & Webster to $15.38 and $16.3 respectively. The share price slumped on Wednesday.. and Citi says customer acquisition is proving more difficult and expensive.
In the energy sector... Citi has downgraded Beach Energy from neutral to 'sell'.
The gas producer faces further delay at its Waitsia project, with first LNG sales being pushed back.
And Citi has a $1 target price on the stock.
