JB Hi-Fi (ASX:JBH) reported total sales of $11.06 billion for the 12 months to 30 June 2026, up 4.8% and described by the company as a record. Earnings before interest and tax were $734.4 million, up 5.8% on FY25 statutory EBIT and up 3.8% on FY25 underlying EBIT, and net profit after tax attributable to owners was $489.9 million, up 6.0% on FY25 statutory NPAT and up 2.9% on FY25 underlying NPAT. By business, JB HI-FI Australia sales rose 4.4% to $7.42 billion with comparable sales up 3.2%, gross margin down 5 basis points to 21.94% and EBIT up 3.2% to $547.3 million; the company said Q4 sales growth was affected by supplier price rises and stock availability shortages in the technology categories, along with cycling new product releases in the prior year. JB HI-FI New Zealand, which reports in New Zealand dollars, lifted sales 26.0% to NZ$499.5 million with comparable sales up 15.3% and EBIT of NZ$4.1 million, an increase of NZ$4.3 million. The Good Guys sales rose 2.7% to $2.94 billion with EBIT of $184.0 million, up 6.0% on FY25 underlying EBIT. e&s recorded sales of $273.1 million and EBIT of negative $0.4 million; on a statutory basis its sales were up 21.3% because FY25 consolidated only ten months, while on a comparable twelve-month basis total sales were down 0.2%. For the month of July 2026 the Group reported total sales growth of negative 0.5% for JB HI-FI Australia, 20.9% for JB HI-FI New Zealand, negative 1.7% for The Good Guys and negative 2.7% for e&s. Mr Wells said the company continues to see variability in trading, with customers increasingly looking for value and migrating spend to key promotional events, along with impacts from supplier price rises and stock availability shortages in the technology categories.
