About Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR)
Elixir Energy Limited is an ASX-listed oil and gas exploration company headquartered in Adelaide. Its principal focus is the Taroom Trough in Queensland, where it holds exploration acreage and is appraising gas and condensate in the Tinowon sandstone. The company is at the exploration and appraisal stage rather than commercial production.
Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) reported results from the first phase of flow testing at the Lorelle-3H appraisal well in ATP2056 in Queensland's Taroom Trough, in which Elixir holds a 50 per cent working interest and is operator of the appraisal well, with Santos Limited holding the other 50 per cent and operating the permit thereafter. The well achieved peak rates of 10.4 mmscfd with 10 barrels a day of light oil and condensate, or 10.5 mmscfd (approximately 13 TJd) expressed as a gas rate, averaging 6.1 mmscfd over the hour, from approximately 1,000 metres of reservoir. These peak rates were achieved while the well was still producing 800 barrels a day of stimulation fluid on a 40/64th choke. Over the most stable 12-hour flow period, rates averaged 2.35 mmscfd with 6 barrels a day of light oil and condensate. Total volumes produced over the 30-day cleanup and flowback, which included shut-in periods, were 9.4 mmscf of gas and 53 barrels of light oil and condensate. The well recovered 34 per cent of its total injected stimulation fluid, or 18,000 barrels, which Elixir said is high versus offset wells.
Elixir reported the gas contained 1 per cent CO2 with approximately 10 per cent ethane and 4 per cent propane, giving an energy and sales conversion factor of 1 mmscf equalling 1.21 terajoules of sales gas, within pipeline specification and requiring no processing outside standard dehydration. The light oil and condensate measured an API gravity of 47.8 degrees. Based on the Lorelle-3H flow test, the company said future development wells of 2,000 metres in length may deliver equivalent peak sales gas rates of 15 TJd and stabilised rates of 6 TJd. Elixir said zero fracture stimulation sand was produced during cleanup and flowback, resulting in a production ready well. A 60-day soak is planned, followed by a second phase of testing. Lorelle-3H is 55 kilometres south-east of the Wallumbilla Gas Hub, where Elixir has commenced upstream plant and pipeline feasibility works.
