Argenica Therapeutics (ASX:AGN) Investor Presentation

Company Interview29 Apr, 2026

Argenica Therapeutics touts stroke breakthrough potential with ARG-007. Dr Liz Dallimore from Argenica Therapeutics outlines what she views as a major opportunity for the company’s lead neuroprotective drug candidate, ARG-007, targeting acute ischaemic stroke and traumatic brain injury. Dallimore states ARG-007 is designed to protect neurons by blocking calcium influx during the acute phase of ischaemia, supported by extensive preclinical data in rodents and non-human primates across stroke and other neurological indications.

Dallimore reports that the completed phase 2 trial in acute ischaemic stroke meets its primary safety endpoint and shows what she regards as compelling efficacy signals in a clearly defined subgroup of moderate-to-severe large-vessel stroke patients. Imaging data at three days reportedly show statistically significant limitation of infarct growth in patients with larger baseline brain injury, which Dallimore links directly to the proposed mechanism of action. She adds that functional outcomes at 90 days, measured by the modified Rankin Scale, also appear improved in this subgroup.

Looking ahead, Dallimore highlights a planned phase 2b trial focused on moderate-to-severe stroke, interim analysis as a key value inflection point, and parallel clinical plans in traumatic brain injury. She points to ongoing partnering talks with several global pharmaceutical companies as central to funding beyond Argenica’s current cash runway
