Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) has expanded its gold portfolio with the acquisition of tenements in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields region. David Geraghty states the purchase of Mount Diamond, Mount Jackson, and Johnston Range is a high-quality addition that materially strengthens Forrestania’s asset base. This move is supported by a strategy focused on consolidating prospective gold assets on a well-established infrastructure route, allowing ore to be processed at the Lake Johnson plant, acquired from Horizon Minerals (ASX:HRZ), which is being converted for gold production by 2026.
Geraghty highlights the rich production history of the area and its potential for further discoveries, suggesting that previous focus on lithium and nickel meant the gold endowment is under-explored. New exploration techniques are now making it easier to unlock the region’s gold potential despite the challenging dense vegetation cover. Geraghty points to the ongoing full-script takeover of Kula Gold, aiming to reach a controlling stake in a deal valuing Coola at around $58 million, with assets including the historically productive Mount Garnet and Mount Palmer gold projects.
Looking ahead, Geraghty outlines Forrestania's transition to a sole focus on gold, with strategic divestment of lithium and base metal assets. He emphasises Forrestania’s clear vision and timeline, backed by strong shareholder support, targeting gold production in late 2026 or early 2027.
