Lithium prices may be well below their 2022 highs, but confidence is returning to the sector and Pursuit Minerals (ASX: PUR) says it's well placed to benefit.
CEO Aaron Revelle says the company's flagship Rio Grande Sur project in Argentina has evolved from a greenfield exploration play into a development project, with a pre-feasibility study completed for an initial 5,000-tonne operation and further drilling underway to expand the resource.
Located in Argentina's prolific Lithium Triangle, alongside major operations owned by Rio Tinto and Ganfeng, Pursuit is advancing plans for larger-scale production while holding discussions with potential offtake partners and investors. Revelle argues the market is shifting from surplus toward a forecast supply deficit by 2030, renewing demand for quality lithium projects.
Unlike many early-stage explorers, Pursuit has already produced 99.5% technical-grade lithium carbonate through its pilot plant, giving it a proven processing route and samples that have been assessed by customers across Asia, Europe and North America.
The company is also well funded, with around $3 million in cash and additional liquid assets, and is progressing a newly acquired gold project in Argentina alongside its lithium assets. Revelle says that dual-project strategy provides multiple avenues for value creation while positioning Pursuit for the next phase of lithium demand.
