Why Dan thinks AI is the decade's biggest money-maker

Company Interview25 Sep, 2025

Key points:

AI is seen as the largest tech investment opportunity in decades Companies spotlighted include Nvidia, Oracle, Salesforce.com, Adobe, and CrowdStrike Massive capital investment will drive global AI and data infrastructure buildout Public-private partnerships to become increasingly crucial in strategic tech sectors

Artificial intelligence remains the defining technology trend of the era, according to Dan Ives from Wedbush Securities, who sees AI as the biggest theme in tech over the last five decades. Ives points to a robust tech bull market over the next two to three years, driven by transformational investments from both major industry players and sovereign nations. Highlighting the breadth of opportunity, Ives singles out chip makers such as AMD (NASDAQ:AMD), Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO), and Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), as well as software giants including Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL), and Oracle (NYSE:ORCL).

He also notes key cybersecurity companies Zscaler (NASDAQ:ZS) and CrowdStrike (NASDAQ:CRWD), energy players like Aqua and nuclear themes, as well as Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) for its developments in autonomy. Ives observes that Nvidia’s $100 billion investment in OpenAI, together with Oracle and SoftBank’s $500 billion Stargate project to add five new data centres, marks the early stages of a global AI infrastructure buildout. This unprecedented capital deployment, he says, places US tech ahead of China for the first time in 30 years.

On underappreciated market segments, Ives identifies software—as seen with Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM) and Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE)—and cybersecurity, where he believes valuations fail to reflect their core role in the AI era. He considers public-private partnerships, such as government involvement with Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), essential for keeping the US at the forefront of the AI race. With anticipated interest rate cuts and significant liquidity in money markets, Ives maintains an optimistic outlook for tech equities amid a risk-on environment.
