The S&P/ASX 200 seesawed to finish flat on Monday, slightly down to 8,729.40 points.

Oil rebounded on continued uncertainty in the Middle East, with Israel moving into Lebanon and US-Iran talks still producing no result.

Banks were weaker amid the cautious tone, with CBA lower by 1%.

In contrast, tech stocks hovered near a four-month high after US shares notched another record close, and the local sector jumped 5.4% today.

Healthcare was firmly in the red, though Pro Medicus bucked the trend. The medtech company gained 8.55% after announcing a five-year, $28 million contract renewal, with Allegheny Health Network in the US.

Elsewhere, we saw Cettire rise 22.9% after saying it will expand in China with a flagship store launch.

And DroneShield fell 8.6% as it flagged more than 25% of votes cast against its remuneration report, triggering a first strike.

On global markets, US manufacturing PMI data is due overnight.
