And staying on the critical minerals deal between Australia and the US. The U-S Export Import Bank has sent letters of intent for financing to a number of firms. They are Arafura Rare Earths (ASX: ARU), Northern Minerals (ASX: NTU), Graphinex, La Trobe Magnesium (ASX: LMG), VHM, RZ Resources, and Sunrise Energy Metals (ASX: SRL). Arafura says the US bank has announced conditional approval of an investment of up to $US100-million dollars in Arafura's Nolans Project in the Northern Territory. There will also be a $US200 million equity investment in a West Australian gallium plant owned by Alcoa.
BHP (ASX: BHP) saw production dip at its iron ore mines in Western Australia over the first quarter of the financial year. Iron ore output from its mines in Western Australia dropped 2 percent to 70.2 million tonnes because of planned maintenance. It's iron ore production guidance for the year remains unchanged. Copper production rose 4 percent with record throughput at its Escondida mine in Chile. The global miner says it's confident of iron ore demand despite China's economy slowing down.
South32 (ASX: S32) has reaffirmed its FY26 guidance... with aluminium production remaining stable from the previous quarter, and Manganese production increasing by 33%. However, it's flagged uncertainty about electricity supply for one of its Aluminium projects...
Elsewhere - HUB24 (ASX: HUB) has reported a 28%increase in net inflows over the first quarter of FY26...Meanwhile, total funds under administration were up to $146.9 billion, with Hub24 saying its platform ranked first for quarterly and annual net inflows.
NAB (ASX: NAB) has promoted Shane Conway to group executive for transformation. QBE has appointed Chris Killourhy as chief financial officer, replacing Inder Singh, who recently joined NAB. Killourhy was most recently MD of QBE Re.
And Super Retail Group (ASX: SUL) has appointed BCF managing director Paul Bradshaw as its new group managing director and CEO.
