Medical imaging group Pro Medicus has said it's exempt from the recent 100 per cent pharmaceutical tariffs announced by the Trump Administration last week. The company says it does not produce, sell or otherwise have any direct involvement with the pharmaceutical industry and as such, it is not subject to the recently announced US tariff on pharmaceuticals.
Synlait Milk is scaling down operations after reporting a NZ$800 thousand net profit after tax over FY25, in a period it described as challenging. Synlait will sell its New Zealand's North Island assets for NZ$307 million, in a bid to reduce debt and "refocus on core operations"
Elsewhere, wealth management software Bravura Solutions has appointed Colin Greenhill as its new CEO. His contract start on January 1st 2026, and Mr Greenhill will be based in London.
Mineral Resources has finished the upgrade of the Onslow Iron haul road in WA. The company says haulage is now due to resume at normal speed, with a widened road. Despite the set back, Mineral Resources shipped a record 3.2 million tonnes of ore in August 2025.
Pathology services provider Australian Clinical Labs has agreed to pay a $5.8 million penalty in relation to a cyberattack on Medlab Pathology in February 2022, shortly after ACL’s acquisition of the business.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Finance Minister Katy Gallagher have forecast hat the predicted $27.9 billion underlying deficit for 2024-25 before the May election has shrunk to just under $10 billion, or 0.4 per cent of gross domestic product.
