An update on M&A from Perpetual (ASX:PPT) - It has rejected EQT's revised takeover offer at $22.07 per share...The Swedish private equity firm offered a 2% increase on its original A$21.64 offer... But Perpetual's Board remains resolute the revised proposal does not represent fair value for shareholders.
Cleanaway (ASX:CWY) is appealing a landfill levy decision made against it by the Victorian Supreme court. Despite pursuing the appeal, Cleanaway is taking a $27.5 million dollar provision covering the three years it has been found guilty of underpaying. Cleanaway expects a cash flow impact of approximately $12.3 million dollars in FY27.
Fletcher Building (ASX:FBU) has secured $60 million dollars of government support for NZ cement manufacturing...The plant supplies nearly 60 percent of the cement used in New Zealand and directly employs more than 150 people.
Copper production at South32 (ASX:S32) fell 10% in the fourth quarter on the back of lower-grade material processing and the impacts of bad weather. However, it exceeded 2026 production guidance across its other key operations, with quarterly sales volumes jumped 15 per cent as it benefited from stronger market conditions. The miner said it would provide updated FY27 guidance for Australia Manganese once work to manage elevated water levels is completed, while other production forecasts remain unchanged.
St Barbara (ASX:SBM) has exceeded its Q4 FY26 gold production guidance, producing close to 7,300 ounces. Full-year production totalled 48,400 ounces at a realised price of A$6,232 per ounce and it has $509 million in cash, bullion and listed investments with no bank debt.
Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) FY26 gold production reached 50.4 thousand ounces, exceeding revised guidance. Operating cash flow hit $53 million in the June quarter, the highest quarterly result since 2018. The company has also announced that CEO Bryan Quinn will step down on 24 July, with CFO Martin Cummings assuming the interim chief executive role.
Perenti (ASX:PRN) has secured a six-month extension to its mining services contract at AngloGold Ashanti’s gold mine in Ghana, alongside an agreement to sell most of its on-site mining fleet at the end of the contract. The extension is worth about $95 million, while the equipment sale is expected to generate a further $30 million to $40 million in proceeds.
And Deep Yellow (ASX:DYL) has awarded $34 million in civil and concrete construction contracts for its flagship uranium project in Namibia, ahead of a final investment decision which is expected in the December quarter.
