Company Interview26 Aug, 2026

The ASX 200 is expected to open around 0.3% higher today, following a positive session on Wall Street. The Nasdaq led gains, while small-cap stocks also strengthened and the VIX fell. Semiconductor stocks rallied ahead of Nvidia’s results, with the market expecting around US$92 billion in revenue. Gold, silver and copper also moved higher overnight, while the Australian dollar traded around US71.6 cents.

Woolworths reported an 18% increase in full-year profit to $1.14 billion, supported by stronger supermarket sales and a return to profitability at Big W. Underlying profit was close to $1.6 billion, while group sales rose 3.6% to $71.5 billion. The result included $461 million in significant items, including a provision relating to underpaid staff. Online sales continued to grow and now account for around 16% of supermarket sales. Woolworths said momentum has continued into FY27, with sales up strongly in the first eight weeks, helped by its Disney collectibles campaign. A final dividend of 52 cents per share was declared, up almost 16%.

WiseTech Global delivered a 79% increase in full-year revenue to a record US$1.4 billion, following the acquisition of E2open. Underlying net profit increased 29% to US$313.5 million, while reported profit fell 11% to just over $200 million. The company delivered around US$115 million in annualised cost savings and said CargoWise revenue increased 11%. WiseTech expects FY27 revenue growth of 6–10%, supported by greater adoption of generative AI across CargoWise and new products including VerifyWise. A fully franked final dividend of 8.8 cents per share was declared. Shares fell around 9% in early trading.

Nine Entertainment reported a 7% increase in net profit after tax to $142 million, despite ongoing pressure on traditional free-to-air television advertising. FY26 revenue increased 3% to $2.19 billion. The company recorded a near $404 million after-tax impairment related to its television business, reflecting weaker broadcast advertising conditions. Stan was a standout, with earnings reaching almost $81 million, up 34%, helped by Premier League content. Nine is increasingly focusing on growth businesses including Stan, Nine Outdoor and digital publishing, which it expects to contribute the majority of revenue and earnings next year. A dividend of 7.5 cents per share was declared.

Flight Centre said Middle East hostilities reduced fourth-quarter profit by around $60 million, contributing to a 4% decline in FY26 underlying profit before tax to $276 million. Despite the disruption, transaction value reached a record $25.7 billion. Corporate travel was the strongest performer, with profit rising 28%, offsetting a 22% decline in leisure earnings. The company is seeing signs of a recovery in leisure travel, with July transaction value reaching a record and profit at its strongest July level since 2015. Flight Centre expects to provide FY27 guidance in November.

Domino’s reported underlying net profit of just under $122 million, in line with previous guidance, following a challenging year for the pizza operator. Group same-store sales fell more than 4%, with Europe down over 2% and Asia down almost 7%. Revenue declined 11%, while the company recorded a statutory net loss of $134.2 million. Domino’s is focusing on franchise partner profitability, margins and reducing its reliance on discounting. A revised pricing and operating model that was trialled in Western Australia lifted average store earnings by more than 30%. A final dividend of 32.5 cents per share was declared, while shares fell around 10%.

Lovisa delivered a strong result, with FY26 revenue increasing 17% to $939 million and net profit rising 11% to $95.6 million. Americas and European revenue increased 29%, while comparable-store sales rose 2% and margins improved by 60 basis points. Trading has continued strongly, with sales up 16.4% in the first eight weeks of FY27 and momentum improving through August. Lovisa declared a 50% franked final dividend of 33 cents per share and plans to continue its global store rollout. Shares surged around 16.5%.

Droneshield reported record first-half revenue of $125.8 million, up 74%, while recurring revenue more than tripled to $11.5 million. The counter-drone technology company swung to an underlying loss as it invested heavily to scale the business, compared with an $8 million profit a year earlier. Statutory net loss was $32.2 million. Droneshield said demand remains strong, with committed FY26 revenue now reaching $240 million. Shares fell around 4.4%.

Netwealth delivered record FY26 revenue of $391 million, up 20%, across all major revenue streams. However, net profit fell 48% to $51 million, following more than $105 million in legal remediation and related costs associated with the collapse of the Guardian Master Fund. Excluding these costs, underlying profit increased 16%. Funds under management reached almost $139 billion, while year-to-date net inflows stood at $2 billion. Netwealth declared a final dividend of 21 cents per share, taking the full-year payout to a record 42 cents, up 9%. The company is targeting FY27 net inflows of between $18 billion and $20 billion.
