Orica (ASX: ORI) is flagging a strong finish to the financial year after reporting a first-half loss in May. However the explosives manufacturer has flagged litigation costs for ongoing intellectual property and commercial disputes. Orica has also indicated that its $400 million share buyback is now 55% complete FY25 results are expected on November 13th. With CEO Sanjeev Ghandi saying ..."We are pleased with the strong finish to the financial year. Our core blasting business remains resilient, supported by the ongoing adoption of our innovative products and services"
SiteMinder (ASX: SDR) has responded to an ASX query -- in relation to its 21% share price jump following its results on August 27th. SiteMinder says it s not able to male "definitive comments" as to the factors behind its speeding ticket noting ...“Fifteen of the 17 sell-side analysts who opine on SiteMinder rated the company’s shares a ‘buy’, and the average price target of all covering analysts increased from $6.18 to $7.63 following the in-line FY25 result.”
Qantas (ASX: QAN) CEO Vanessa Hudson will have her bonus slashed by $250-thousand as a result of the airline's cyber breach -- That's a 15% hit. However her overall pat is up 43% to $6.3 million.
And Argent Minerals (ASX: ARD) has announced a share placement to raise $4.85 million -- To advance exploration at its Kempfield silver-polymetallic project.
Medibank (ASX: MPL) non-executive directors David Fagan and Linda Nicholls will retire at the comnpany's AGM in November... To be replaced by Jacqueline Hey and Lisa McIntyre. Hey is currently a non-executive director of OFX Group and Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation -- while McIntrye is stepping down from the Nanosonics (ASX: NAN) board in early November. She joined the board December 2019 and has served as the chairwoman of the innovation and development committee since January 2023.
Elsewhere Lithium-producer Vulcan Energy (ASX: VUL) has secured a key contract for its lithium project. Canada's NORAM will partner with Vulcan --providing electrolysis technology to its Lionheart Project. Vulcan says this paves the way for the completion of the lithium project, with the company aiming to finalise new contracts "in the coming weeks".
