Both Coles (ASX: COL) and Woolworths (ASX: WOW) reacted to last friday's Federal Court ruling on the underpayments of salaries. Woolworths says this could add a potential cost between $180 and $330 million. The supermarket giant has added that interest, superannuation and payroll tax could add another $140 to $200 million to the post-tax cost. Similarly, Coles has flagged a liability OF in-between $150 and $250 million including interest and on-costs, may be required as a provision for the Federal Court’s decision on wage underpayments.
Defence technology company DroneShield (ASX: DRO) will join the S&P/ASX 200 from September 22nd. It currently has a market cap of $2.65 billion. Last month Droneshield reported record first half revenue of $72 million and record profit before tax of $5 million. The company says it has a pipeline of defence contracts worth $2.3 billion.
Online payment operator QuickFee (ASX: QFE) has withdrawn its FY26 earnings guidance after selling its US Pay Now business for $40 million. QuickFee expects lower transaction volumes, but says group results should be overall stronger in FY26 compared to FY25.
Meanwhile - Respiratory imaging technology 4DMedical (ASX: 4DX) has signed new contracts for its lung health analysis software. The new partners include a Brazilian pharmaceuticals company, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Spectrum Medical in New South Wales.
Morningstar has hiked its price target for Aussie Broadband (ASX: ABB) to $5.20. Aussie Broadband says the wholesale broadband services deals with CommBank demonstrates the management team adaptability.
