Key points:

Stake users rotate into tech, AI and semiconductor ETFs as risk appetite rises Strong $INTC result drives trading spikes in $INTC, $ARM, $AMD, $NVDA - $AMZN, $AAPL and $TSLA see heightened volumes around earnings and price dips Cochlear (ASX:COH) and NAB (ASX:NAB) attract “buy the dip” and profit-taking flows Bitcoin, Ethereum and crypto-related stocks such as $MSTR gain alongside risk assets

Investor rotation back into big tech and AI is accelerating on trading platform Stake, according to Kylie Purcell from Stake. Purcell states that April marks a clear shift to “risk-on” positioning, with significant spikes in technology-themed ETFs such as the Global X FANG ETF and Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares ($SOXL). She notes that while these ETFs benefit from strength in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index and Nasdaq 100, Stake data shows elevated sell orders, which she interprets as investors locking in gains at record highs.

Purcell highlights Intel ($INTC) as a major focal point, pointing to a sharp jump in its share price and a 237% surge in trade volumes on Stake following strong data centre and AI numbers. She adds that this momentum is spilling over into other AI names, with trading in ARM Holdings ($ARM), Advanced Micro Devices ($AMD) and Nvidia ($NVDA) all surging. Ahead of key earnings, Amazon ($AMZN) and Apple ($AAPL) are also seeing robust activity, while Tesla ($TSLA) is Stake’s most bought stock over the past fortnight as users “buy the dip”.

Locally, Purcell flags heavy trading in Cochlear (ASX:COH) and National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) following sharp share price moves, alongside renewed interest in Bitcoin, Ethereum and crypto-linked equities such as MicroStrategy ($MSTR).
