IMDEX digs deeper for growth

Company Interview17 Aug, 2026

Key points

Record year driven by revenue growth, higher earnings and five strategic acquisitions One‑off integration and transformation costs positioned as enablers of margin strength from FY28 AI-enabled subsurface data and decision-intelligence solutions at the core of IMDEX’s offering

CEO Paul House from IMDEX outlines what he views as a record year, with full-year revenue, earnings and profit all rising strongly, supported by five strategic acquisitions including DataRock and Krux. House points to platform revenue now representing a larger share of group revenue and highlights a full-year dividend of 3.4 cents per share as evidence, in his view, of the company’s capacity to share earnings leverage with investors. Integration and transformation costs are framed as one-off, designed to unlock longer‑term value and margin strength from FY28 onwards.

House describes IMDEX as a mining technology services group focused on subsurface data for drilling and resources customers. Sensors, software, analytics and decision-intelligence tools are presented as key to helping clients manage rising costs and productivity pressures. Artificial intelligence – spanning computer vision, machine learning and decision intelligence – is said to touch almost every part of the business, from products to back‑office systems.

Looking ahead, House cites strong demand for metals, with gold representing just over 50% of global exploration activity and copper a little over 25%. He sees IMDEX capturing about $2.40 of revenue for every $100 spent on exploration, with a target above $10 where full solutions are deployed, plus further opportunities in mining production and adjacent earth science markets.
