How Ryan is playing the HALO trade

Company Interview10 Apr, 2026

Key Points:

Telix Pharmaceuticals’ new brain cancer imaging agent seen as key re‑rating catalyst Life360 (ASX:360) viewed as oversold with potential for Q1 earnings beat and guidance upgrade TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE) expected to monetise AI early with margin upside Preference to rotate from APA Group (ASX:APA) into Transurban (ASX:TCL) for income Qube (ASX:QUB) highlighted for franking credit and takeover arbitrage potential

Ryan McCaugherty from Sandstone Insights outlines a bullish outlook on several Australian names, highlighting catalysts in healthcare, technology and infrastructure. McCaugherty points to Telix Pharmaceuticals’ brain cancer imaging agent, with the FDA accepting its new drug application, as a key step in transforming Telix into a dual‑product company. He estimates potential peak sales of about US$200 million by the mid‑2030s and suggests this could help offset roughly 15% short interest, alongside upcoming 2026 catalysts in kidney and prostate cancer imaging.

Turning to Life360 (ASX:360), McCaugherty views the recent AI‑related layoffs as genuine efficiency gains rather than simple headcount cuts. He tracks App Store rankings and paying circles rather than monthly active users, and contends these metrics indicate strong momentum. He expects a Q1 earnings beat and possible guidance upgrade as monetisation per paying circle improves.

On TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE), McCaugherty expects it to be among the first SaaS names to report a discrete AI revenue line, citing rapid early uptake of its AI suite and significant margin upside. In income stocks, he favours switching from APA Group (ASX:APA), which he regards as fully valued after the “halo trade”, into Transurban (ASX:TCL) for a near 5% yield. He also flags Qube (ASX:QUB) as an attractive franking credit and takeover arbitrage opportunity.
