How AI and acquisitions are driving IMB's next growth phase

Company Interview15 Jun, 2026

Key Points:

Wormald New Zealand and Red Wolf acquisitions used to scale security and fire operations Focus on AI-enabled perimeter and camera-based security solutions for enterprises New Zealand expected to match or exceed Australian growth, supported by 500 local staff

Dennison Hambling outlines how Intelligent Monitoring Group’s completed acquisitions of Tyco NZ and Red Wolf are intended to transform the company’s New Zealand operations. Hambling states the Wormald brand brings deep fire protection heritage and scale, complementing the ADT Security business acquired in 2023, and positioning the group as a national security and fire services provider. The strategy, in Hambling’s view, is to leverage this footprint to accelerate commercial and enterprise growth using advanced, AI-enabled perimeter protection solutions.

Hambling sees New Zealand as a core growth engine, expecting it to at least match Australian growth rates and potentially outperform, supported by nearly 500 staff on the ground. He suggests the economy appears to be stabilising after a tougher period, creating a favourable backdrop for rolling out modern security and fire technology. The expanded Wormald customer base, covering an estimated 26% of commercial premises in New Zealand, is regarded as a key channel for cross-selling new monitoring and AI solutions.

On financials, Hambling reaffirms guidance of at least 6.25 cents pro-forma EPS and underlying EBITDA of $43–47 million, viewing this as a solid recurring profitability base to build a larger industrial services platform over time.
