The local sharemarket finished the financial year in the red, closing lower by 0.5%.

Banks led the market higher Tuesday, with the Big Four posting solid gains that helped offset weakness across the materials sector.
Collins Foods dipped 2.5% despite recording record revenue for the 2026 financial year, as slowing Germany sales weighed on investor sentiment.
In other news, Capricorn Metals bucked the materials selloff, rising after receiving federal environmental approval for its Mount Gibson Gold Project.
Elsewhere in the sector, IGO has completed its acquisition of the Copper Wolf Project in Arizona, climbing 0.9% during the day's trade.
And IFM Investors has increased its stake in Atlas Arteria to just over 54 per cent as its $5.10-a-share takeover offer moves into its final week.
