The local share market ticked higher after the Reserve Bank left rates on hold with commentary regarded as less hawkish than expected. The S&P/ASX 200 Index closed 0.36% higher at 9266.20.

Energy stocks led the gains as oil prices jumped amid further delays to a deal between Oman and Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. Santos rose over 5%.Real estate and consumer-facing stocks were broadly negative following the rates decision. Tech was an underperformer, led by Life360, which tumbled 19.4% after narrowly beating consensus earnings forecasts.Industrial and media conglomerate SGH fell 10.3% after missing on full-year earnings before interest and tax.ARENA REIT lost 12.5%, having fallen 22% yesterday, after delaying its earnings result because a tenant failed to pay August rent.Mortgage insurer Helia rose 10.2% after issuing a special dividend.

Austal shares surged 17.5% after resuming trading following a takeover offer from Hanwha Defence USA for its US business.

Droneshield shares fell 2.8% after hitting $206 million in committed revenue in seven months.
