AML3D ramps up defence push with US Navy growth

Company Interview27 Jul, 2026

AML3D is closing out FY26 with strong momentum, reporting record orders and expanding its role in advanced manufacturing and defence. The company secured $29 million in orders during the year, including contracts linked to the US Navy’s nuclear submarine program and defence supply chains in the US and UK. CEO Shawn Everett says demand is accelerating as customers look for faster manufacturing solutions.

The company is positioning itself as a strategic defence supplier, using additive manufacturing to solve supply chain constraints. AML3D (ASX:AL3) says it can produce critical submarine components in around 16 weeks, compared with up to two years through traditional manufacturing methods. The company is also benefiting from the AUKUS defence partnership, supporting industrial capability across Australia, the US and the UK.

Financially, AML3D is preparing for further expansion, with cash receipts up 20% year-on-year and significant investment planned across its global operations. The company is allocating funds to expand its US facility and establish a UK technology centre, targeting growth across defence, aerospace and energy markets. While the share price has lagged, management says the focus remains on execution and converting growing demand into long-term growth.
