AFT Pharma's global iron boost

Company Interview31 Mar, 2025

AFT Pharmaceuticals (ASX:AFP) has partnered with Belgium's Alaris Pharmaceuticals to advance a non-novel injectable iron therapy to phase three trials. Dr Hartley Atkinson mentions the global market potential, targeting a $7.4 billion market. The therapy addresses the growing issue of iron deficiency, promising developments despite administration challenges.

Hartley reveals plans to conduct clinical studies with up to 1,000 patients across China, the US, and Europe. The therapy will be prescription-based, complementing AFT's (ASX:AFP) existing over-the-counter iron products. The company is undergoing significant expansion, including five product launches in China and ongoing licensing deals.

Financially, Hartley is pleased with AFT's (ASX:AFP) growth, expecting record sales of over $200 million by FY 2025. The company focuses on R&D and global expansion without additional fundraising, using profits from its robust Australian and New Zealand businesses.
